Camp jobs offer invaluable skill-building, leadership training, and enrichment opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else! For college students, regardless of your college major, camp experiences allow you to learn and develop skills that will enhance your job marketability. Employers often note that experience as a camp counselor translates into excellent management and personnel skills. The benefits go far beyond a paycheck, too. Counselors rest well at the end of the day knowing that they made a difference in the lives of children.
You will not find a more fun and rewarding place to work than summer camp at Camp Kum-Ba-Yah Nature Center.
Summer Camp Counselors
The heart and soul of any camp are its counselors. In this critically important position, you will provide leadership and instruction in one or more specific camp activities and maintain a positive attitude towards others at camp. A highly flexible and can-do attitude is a must. The best counselors are energetic and love interacting with campers. Being a counselor requires being outdoors all day, so a comfort level with this is imperative.
Each summer, Camp Kum-Ba-Yah welcomes international counselors from around the world. In recent summers, we have had international counselors from Trinidad, Germany, France, Egypt, Netherlands and Kenya! International counselors are hosted by local families, and we are always seeking families willing to share their home with these special friends.
