Dear Camp Kum-Ba-Yah@CosbyWoods Community,

Camp Kum-Ba-Yah@CosbyWoods is deeply grateful for your dedication and abiding support in these challenging times. In response to Governor Northam’s stay-at-home executive order, CKBY@CosbyWoods is innovating to provide virtual environmental and outdoor programming for our amazing campers and their families.

We hope you will “Get Out and Garden!” along with Camp and Program Director Olivia Lightle and Camp and Program Assistant Director Ruth McCorquodale as they mulch and plant the CKBY@CosbyWoods garden. (Links to two facebook videos). We hope their vegetables will grow to provide healthy vegetarian camper lunches!

CKBY@CosbyWoods’ summer camp and year-round environmental programs represent 55% of total camp revenues. In the face of reduced programs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask our camper families and donors to step forward and support the camp with a financial gift. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides a new partial above-the-line deduction for non-itemizers when they give cash gifts up to $300 to CKBY@CosbyWoods.
