Come join Camp Kum-Ba-Yah @ Cosby Woods on an epic day hike!

We will be meeting at camp at 8:30 am, from here we will follow each other in separate vehicles to Cole Mountain.
Please bring hiking shoes, snacks, water, and layers. The temperature on the mountain will be different due to elevation. If your child is 3 years old or younger we recommend baby carriers.

Our leaders Tasha and John Gillum will be staying later with their children to enjoy a lunch with a view! if you would like to join them feel free to pack a lunch!

The hike is set to end around noon. If you choose to stay later for lunch it will end around 1:30 pm including travel time back to Lynchburg.

Please take into consideration that this hike is not for all children. The portion of Cole Mountain we will be hiking is around a 1.5 mile hike. We will be starting at hog camp gap on the AT to the summit of Cole Mountain. It’s elevation is 1,490 feet and is considered a beginners hike.

At the summit of Cole Mountain you will see large open meadow views, where wild flowers are plentiful to see!
