Since 1950, Camp Kum-Ba-Yah Nature Center (CKBY) has offered quality outdoor enrichment day camp experiences for children in Central Virginia. Nestled in the heart of Lynchburg, CKBY offers 47 acres for campers to explore the natural world around them, experience personal discovery through new and challenging activities in a safe and encouraging environment, and cultivate friendships through shared responsibility and community.

CKBY’s signature program is a well-established tradition, enriching the lives of young campers since 1950. Outdoor day-camp activities inspire growth, learning, and confidence as children gather from all walks of life.

School Field Trips

School Field Trips

Guided outdoor programming is available for schools, clubs, and other groups. Activities are paired to Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL’s) and serve students from across Central Virginia throughout the school year.

Camp Kum-Ba-Yah Nature Center offers 47 acres of preserved greenspace in the heart of Lynchburg. Hiking trails, KinderWoods playground, and indoor spaces offer year-round opportunities to explore, gather, and learn.
